Now THIS is an Open

           This is the way people grew to know and love the U.S. Open: hardly any birdies, and if the birdies to come, they are followed quickly by bogeys. In the morning session, only five golfers are under par and each of them is only 1 under par.

          And these guys played when the conditions were benign: light winds.

           Rough is up, the ground is hard, especially the ground under the greens.
