Joe Saladino of Huntington, the only local left in the U.S. Mid-Amateur, will play Tim Mickelson, the biggest name (or surname anyway) in the third round, beginning fairly soon at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton.

After a weather delay of 4 hours, 31 minutes, Mickelson just finished his second-round match against Keith Humerickhouse of New Castle, Colo., 2 and 1.Mickelson is the golf coach at the University of San Diego and brother of Phil Mickelson, three-time Masters champion. The winner of the mid-am gets an invitation to the Masters.

Unlike his brother, Tim plays righthanded (Humerickhouse is a lefty).
