Stephen Curry is coming to Bethpage Black.

In a manner of speaking.

The Golden State star announced that his Underrated Golf Tour will hold the Curry Cup championship at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale on Sept. 15-17.

The championship will be the culmination of the tour’s five regional tournaments that will have 120 student-athletes compete over the course of the summer.

“We are honored to host the Curry Cup at Bethpage Black and welcome these young athletes who have worked hard all season to earn their place at one of New York’s great public courses,” New York State Parks acting commissioner Kathy Moser said in a statement. “I hope that when these athletes step onto this stage they feel they belong here and leave believing even more in what’s possible for their future.”

In its fifth season, the Underrated tour aims to make the sport more accessible to women and underrepresented communities. The tour was designed along the parallel tracks of developing student-athletes through tournament competition while providing them access to golf industry leaders in order to network.

“From day one, Underrated Golf has never been just about playing the game. It’s about creating access and opening doors for young athletes who might not have seen themselves in this space before,” Curry said in a statement. “It’s amazing to see how this platform continues to grow and impact the next generation.”

Prior to the Curry Cup at Bethpage Black, Underrated will hold tournaments in Gainesville, Florida (June 30-July12); Scottsdale, Arizona (July 13-15); Galloway, New Jersey (July 21-23); and Los Angeles (Aug. 2-4).
