Ten golfers within five shots at Met Open
With all the contenders on the back nine in the Met Open at Bethpage Black, it looks like it will be a shootout finish. The top 10 golfers are within a five-stroke range. On the Black, five shots can change in a minute.
Amateur Evan Beirne of Connecticut, a St. John's student, made the turn at 3-under. John Stoltz of the Concord is 2 under, Charlie Bolling of Fresh Meadow is 1-under. Garden City Golf Club pro Bob Rittberger and North Hills assistant Scott Ford are at par. Long Islanders Adam Fuchs and Abbie Valentine are among the group at 1 over, and Tarik Can of Manhasset is 2-over.
