Three LIers in US Public Links
Dennis Lynch of Smithtown shot 4-under-par 138 over 36 holes at Bethpage Blue and was the medalist at a sectional qualifier for the U.S. Public Links Championship. Lynch is the reigning Metropolitan Golf Association Mid-Amateur Champion.
Jim Liu, 15, also of Smithtown, and Robert Cerabone of Commack also qualified and will be in the field for the USGA event July 12-17 in Greensboro, N.C.
The winner of the U.S. Public Links gets an invitation to the Masters.
