"Southward Ho has well over 60 bunkers, many of them with four-foot high lips (or more). I've often seen golfers try to pick out a spot a few inches behind the ball and then hit that spot. I could never get comfortable looking away from the ball, so instead I use visualization to promote a successful move out of a bunker. I take a normal swing and picture myself driving the club under the ball instead of hitting into it. My eyes never stray from the ball. If you're struggling out of bunkers, this may work for you, too."
