Tony Demaria wins assistants title at Hudson National

Tony Demaria of Willow Ridge shot par 70 at Hudson National Monday to win the latest stop on the local assistant pros tour. He scored a one-shot victory over David Head of Laurel Links and two others. Matt Belize of Westchester Hills also tied for second, having made two eagles on par 4s.
Long Island Open champion Matt Dobyns of Deepdale and Anthony Aruta of Mill River were among those tied for fifth at 72.
