Bernhard Langer, 52, hasn't won a PGA or European Tour event since 2002. But the 1985 and 1993 Masters champion was off to a nice start Thursday, sharing the lead with Steve Marino at 3-under.
Langer hasn't even made the cut at the Masters since 2005, but he did finish fourth in 2004. The native of Germany has eight top-10 finishes in his 27 appearances at Augusta.
