USTA cancels Arthur Ashe Kids' Day

The United States Tennis Association had cancelled Saturday's Arthur Ashe Kids' Day at the site of the U.S. Open due to Hurricane Irene, which is forecast to hit the metropolitan area Saturday evening and Sunday.
Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks and his wife, La La Anthony, reigning U.S. Open champions Rafael Nadal and Kim Clijsters, top-ranked men's player Novak Djokovic, former U.S. Open Champion Andy Roddick, movie star Bradley Cooper, pop star Cody Simpson, and television personality and actor Quddus were scheduled to participate.
The cancellation includes the free ground activities in the morning and Stadium show in the afternoon.
CBS will air a highlights show featuring past performances from previous Arthur Ashe Kids' Days, as well as pre-taped segments from 2011. The show will air on Sunday from noon-1:30 p.m.
