Voting for Bethpage Black

Where does Bethpage Black rank among the top public courses in the nation? Voters will have a chance to decide that in an online contest by golfdigest.com, which begins today.
The poll will be conducted in match play format, with one course being pitted against another on Golf Digest’s Facebook page. Bethpage, the only Long Island course in the 64-entry field, will be matched against Hawktree Golf Course of Bismarck, N.D. in the first round.
Polls and contests like this are always quirky. This one has its odd side, considering that Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass are considered public courses.
