Mark Wilson had a two-stroke lead in the Phoenix Open when play was suspended yesterday because of darkness in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Wearing a yellow visor and green shirt in support of his beloved Packers, the Wisconsin player broke a tie with Tommy Gainey with a 15-foot birdie putt on the par-3 12th. Gainey three-putted for a bogey on the hole.

Wilson and Gainey were facing 20-foot birdie putts on the par-5 13th when they decided it was too dark to finish the hole.

Wilson was 18 under. Gainey was tied for second with Vijay Singh and Jason Dufner. Singh shot 66, and Dufner had four holes left.

The start was delayed a half-hour because of frost. About nine hours of playing time has been lost to frost and frozen turf, forcing today's finish.

Wilson completed a 3-under-par 68 in the third round Sunday and was 2 under through 12 holes in the final round. On the amphitheater No. 16 in the third round, Wilson and caddie Chris Jones donned cheeseheads and led the fans in Packers chants.

Gainey was 1 over in the final round after shooting a 68 in the third round to take a one-stroke lead over Wilson.

Singh, winless since 2008, was the last player off the course, putting out on the par-4 18th in the dark more than 10 minutes after Wilson and Gainey stopped playing.

J.B. Holmes (67) and Nick Watney (68) finished at 15 under. Martin Laird and Chris Couch also were 15 under. Laird had two holes left, and Couch five.

Phil Mickelson, who shot 65 in the second round to get into contention, shot 71 in the third round and was 1 under through 13 holes in the final round and has slipped into a tie for 24th.

Bjorn wins in Qatar

Thomas Bjorn of Denmark shot a bogey-free, 3-under 69 to reach 14-under 274 to top Alvaro Quiros of Spain by four shots in the Qatar Masters in Doha. It was Bjorn's 11th European Tour victory and first since the Estoril Open in Portugal last June.

Quiros closed within two shots of the lead with a birdie on the 14th, but he bogeyed two of the final four holes, including a three-putt on 15. Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain and second-round leader Markus Brier of Austria finished another shot back.

World No. 2 Martin Kaymer shot a 1-under 71 to finish 2 under in a tie for 28th. He needed to finish at least second to overtake Lee Westwood for the top ranking.- AP
