1. SACHEM EAST FIELD HOCKEY

The Flaming Arrows continued their quest for perfection, storming through the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Taylor Giordano scored twice as Sachem East beat Smithtown East, 3-0, to capture a third straight county title and extend its win streak to 47 games. The two-time defending state champs will face Massapequa Wednesday for the L.I. championship.

2. BABYLON FOOTBALL

Eric Schweitzer scored three touchdowns as the Panthers beat East Hampton, 49-7, to finish the Suffolk IV regular season at 8-0. Schweitzer had an 86-yard interception return as Babylon won for the 20th straight time and earned the top seed in the postseason.

3. SOUTH SIDE GIRLS SOCCER

The dynamic duo struck again as Keri Cavallo scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Christina Klaum in a 2-1 win over Bellmore JFK to send the Cyclones to the county championship game against Garden City Tuesday. The defending state champions are now two wins away from advancing to Cortland to defend their crown.

4. ST. ANTHONY'S FOOTBALL

The Friars scored 35 unanswered point before halftime and went on to a 35-7 win over Fordham Prep. Quarterback Greg Galligan passed for two scores and ran for another as the Friars improved to 8-1 heading into the CHSFL Class AAA playoffs.

5. ST. ANTHONY'S BOYS SOCCER

Rival coaches have called this Friars team the best they've seen. Led by the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Josh Weiss, St. Anthony's defeated Chaminade in a shootout, 4-1, in the NSCHSAA final. The Friars will play Fordham Prep in a state semifinal at 7 p.m. Saturday at St. John's University. Technically, the Friars are the CHSAA co-champs with Chaminade.

6. MASSAPEQUA BOYS SOCCER

The top-seeded Chiefs will look to avenge last year's loss as they play No. 7 Syosset in the Nassau AA final at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Adelphi in a rematch of last season's championship. Sean Nealis scored the winner in the 28th minute off an assist from Brendan Gallivan to lead Massapequa over Farmingdale, 1-0, Sunday in a semifinal.

7. GARDEN CITY FIELD HOCKEY

Melanie McHugh scored with 16:01 left as Garden City (17-0) beat Manhasset for the Nassau Class B title. The Trojans will meet Miller Place (15-2) for the Long Island title Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Dowling Sports Complex.

8. NORTHPORT BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Northport won the Class A race at the Suffolk State Qualifier at Sunken Meadow State Park on Saturday. Mike Brannigan won the 5K in 15:58.16, Tim McGowan finished second in 16:31.92, and Jack McGowan was third in 16:38.54.

9. BELLMORE JFK BOYS VOLLEYBALL

The top seed in the Nassau Class B playoffs are 17-0 and the defending state Division II champs. Gary Anderson had 24 assists and 16 kills in a quarterfinal win over Bethpage. Anderson leads the way as the Cougars look for a second straight state crown.

10. NORTHPORT GIRLS SOCCER

Sam Millman scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Smithtown East in the quarterfinals and Lindsey Demling recorded her 10th shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Smithtown West in the semifinals. The unbeaten Tigers look to capture a second straight county championship Tuesday against West Islip.
