Bedell helps Floyd roll over Lindy

Stacey Bedell rushed for 265 yards on seven carries and had five touchdown runs to lead Floyd to a 41-7 win over Lindenhurst. Bedell, who added six tackles and an interception, scored on runs of 21, 74, 12, 52 and 51 yards, all of which came in the first half as Floyd (1-0) jumped out to a 41-0 lead over Lindenhurst (0-1).

Commack 21, Ward Melville 7: Alex Keyles recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter and returned it 35 yards to the 3 yad line, setting up Brandon Cook's second touchdown run to seal the win for Commack (1-0). Cook had seven carries for 49 yards and two touchdowns, and added 10 tackles and three sacks. Matt Greshuk's 40-yard touchdown pass to Paul Maline made it 14-0 in the second quarter.

Brentwood 31, Northport 14: Chris Green rushed for three touchdowns and 138 yards on 14 carries to lead Brentwood (1-0) in Division I. With three seconds left in the first half, Larenz Roberts blocked a punt on the 10 yard line, and it was recovered in the end zone by Dwayne Scott to give the Indians a 24-7 lead. Green added a 74-yard run in the fourth quarter to make it 31-7.

Sachem East 26, Central Islip 8: Steven Casali had 11 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns, including a 24-yarder to open the scoring for Sachem East (1-0) on Friday. Billy Merone had a 36-yard interception return, Casali had eight tackles and Anthony Vaccaro added six.

Longwood 28, Connetquot 6: Cory Wallace had four carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns to lead Longwood (1-0) Friday. Danny Farrell added a 44-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring, connecting with Jordan Wesley.
