1. BAY SHORE SOFTBALL

Courtney Syrett continued her hot hitting with a two-run home run and Giana Panariello went 4-for-4 in a 15-0 win against Sachem East. Sophomore Michelle DeVito struck out 10 in a 14-1 win against Floyd in her varsity debut.

2. WEST ISLIP BOYS LACROSSE

The Lions’ winning streak is now at 32, but the last two weren’t easy. They needed a spectacular coast-to-coast overtime goal by goalie Kyle Turri to beat Ward Melville in overtime, and used a six-goal game by Mike Sagl to erase an 8-2 deficit to defeat Northport, 11-9.

3. GARDEN CITY GIRLS LACROSSE

The Trojans continue to march relatively unimpeded, winning three games last week – each by at least 11 goals. Garden City has a big week ahead with a conference battle against Manhasset on Wednesday and Saturday’s showdown with Northport.

4. CHAMINADE BOYS LACROSSE

The Flyers added two non-league wins as Walter Rooney scored the game-winner with 3:19 left in a win over Fairfield Prep and sophomore Ryan Lukacovic scored two goals with a career high five assists in a 14-8 win over Yorktown.

5. WARD MELVILLE BOYS LACROSSE

The Patriots’ defense was exceptional against West Islip in Wednesday night’s heartbreaking overtime loss. It wouldn’t be a surprise if these teams meet in a rematch for the Suffolk championship later in the month at Stony Brook.

6. COLD SPRING HARBOR BOYS TENNIS

The top team on Long Island is 9-0 and has buried opponents. Only two matches off Long Island have finished, 4-3.

7. CHAMINADE BOYS GOLF

The Flyers are 9-0 and have won five matches by shutout. The last win, a 6-1 win over St. John the Baptist, saw John Reali and Mike Hanley each shoot a 1-over-par 37 on the front nine at Wheatley Hills GC.

8. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS LACROSSE

The Friars regained their status as an elite national team with a 22-8 blowout of 12th-ranked Good Counsel (Md.). St. Anthony’s only losses have come to McDonogh (Md.) and Garden City, the teams rated No. 1 and 2 in the country.

9. PLAINEDGE BASEBALL

Tyler Manez is 4-0 and Anthony Graziano is 3-0 as the Red Devils sit atop Nassau Conference A-III. They have a three-game series with second-place Lynbrook (10-3) this week.

10. MACARTHUR SOFTBALL

Kristen Brown tossed a gem in a 5-0 win against Long Beach, allowing two hits with 13 strikeouts to extend MacArthur’s winning streak to eight games. Jena Cozza and Katie McNamara lead an explosive offense that has averaged 9.6 runs per game during the streak to help MacArthur climb to the top of Conference AA-I.
