1. GLENN WRESTLING (up from 2) The Knights earned the top spot this week. They had nine individual champions, dominating the Smithtown West Tournament. Jared Cheatham won the 171-pound class and was named Champion of Champions. Glenn (482.5) won the eight-team tournament by 136 points over second-place Connetquot. The Knights won their 45th straight dual meet — one shy of the fifth longest unbeaten streak in Suffolk history last week. The Knights have a grueling League VI meet at home vs. Rocky Point, Friday at 4:30 p.m.

2. HALF HOLLOW HILLS WEST BOYS BASKETBALL (down from 1) The Colts posted easy wins over Copiague and Deer Park, with Tyler Harris scoring a career-high 23 against Deer Park, which triple-teamed his brother Tobias. Transfer point guard Tavon Sledge continues to shine. The Colts play at Springfield, Mass., vs. Sacred Heart (Ct.) in the prestigious Hoop Hall Classic on Saturday.

3. EAST ISLIP GIRLS BOWLING (holding at 3) They're like an avalanche – on a roll and seemingly unstoppable. They have a team average of 1,014. Freshman Lena Sorrentino has a county-best 236 average and has two 300 games to her credit.

4. HALF HOLLOW HILLS BOYS SWIMMING (holding at 4) Hills has been undefeated in dual-meets, league championships and county championships since 2007 and is carrying that three-year trend into the 2010 season. Matt DeBlasio holds the top 50 yard freestyle time in Suffolk (22.67) and Ryan Savit, as expected, is the county's best diver (high score of 277.3).

5. KELLENBERG GIRLS BASKETBALL (holding at 5) The Firebirds beat Our Lady of Mercy, 65-45. Senior Emma O'Connor had 16 points, nine assists and five blocked shots and sophomore Khadijah Donaldson had 18 points and nine rebounds. A showdown with St. Anthony’s, which is No. 8 in the BIG 10, looms today.

6. EAST ISLIP BOYS BOWLING (not ranked last week) The Redmen are new to the BIG 10 this week. How’s this for a powerhouse lineup; Dan Desimone (238.56 average), Ed Tuskan (230.16) and Jon Knieriemen (225.52). That’s why they find themselves in a comfortable spot: atop the Suffolk boys bowling hierarchy with a 9-0 record. The pinfall of 1,301 in Game 3 against Bay Shore was a L.I. record.

7. LONGWOOD BOYS BASKETBALL (holding at 7) The Lions (8-0) continue to score at an Island-best rate with 94 and 75 points in their two wins last week for an 85.4 average. They play in a tournament at Baltimore this weekend.

8. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL (holding at 8) The Friars (10-1) defeated St. John the Baptist 46-40 as Kerrin Maurer scored 12 points and Micky Impellizeri had 10 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

9. NORTH BABYLON GIRLS BASKETBALL (up from 10) The Bulldogs (4-1) beat Hills East as senior guard Bria Hartley scored 27 points. Hartley scored 35 points and surpassed 1,500 career points in a 69-47 win over Moore Catholic (Staten Island). The UConn-bound Hartley has 1,512 career points.

10. HAUPPAUGE WRESTLING (not ranked last week) The Eagles finished as the top team at this weekend's Eastern States tournament at Sullivan County Community College behind 96-pound champion Mark West. Hauppauge's 162.5 points were 25.5 more than second-place Rocky Point. Ken Collado (119) and Chanse Menendez (171) each placed third.
