 1. LONGWOOD WRESTLING The Lions won the League I tournament title with 10 place-winners, including eight finalists. Longwood crowned four champions: Cory Rasheed (112 pounds), Casey Brice (130), and the Jennings brothers, Ed (140) and Patrick (160). Longwood won its second straight League I tournament title. Longwood (11) wrapped up its third straight unbeaten dual meet season and now has a winning streak of 58. The Lions have won all six tournaments they have competed in this season.

2. ST. MARY’S BOYS BASKETBALL The Gaels jumped out to a 29-7 first-quarter and then hung on for the ride in a 79-69 victory over visiting Holy Trinity to extend their unblemished season. Dante Agnew and Chavaughn Lewis each scored 23 points, while Agnew added 13 assists.

3. EAST ISLIP BOYS BOWLING East Islip has an undefeated season (14-0), a league title, a division title, an individual tournament title, and a Suffolk title. Next month the entire East Islip bowling family, boys and girls, will travel to Syracuse in hopes of capping the season with a state crown.

4. EAST ISLIP GIRLS BOWLING With a 17-0 record and an impressive 1,002.8 team average, the Redmen locked up a playoff berth weeks ago. The time between now and the Feb. 5 tournament will be spent fine-tuning as East Islip seeks to capture the Suffolk title, which has eluded them the last two years.

5. ST. ANTHONY’S WRESTLING St. Anthony’s was idle this week after its dual meet against arch-rival Chaminade was postponed due to a snow storm. This week the Friars face Chaminade and Holy Trinity in dual meets, and then have their NSCHSAA League championships on Sunday.

6. HALF HOLLOW HILLS BOYS SWIMMING Matt DeBlasio won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:40.39, two seconds off the school record, as Hills downed Sachem East, 97-86, to complete its fifth straight undefeated dual-meet season. Hills is aiming for its fifth overall perfect season after going undefeated in dual-meets, league championships and county finals the past four.

7. ST. ANTHONY’ S GIRLS BASKETBALL The Friars finished the dual meet season undefeated in the CHSAA and wrestle for the league championship TODAY at Kellenberg. .

8. WARD MELVILLE GIRLS FENCING Wins over Brentwood and Centereach have solidified Ward Melville (12-0) as the favorite to win a 10th straight Suffolk title.

9. WARD MELVILLE BOYS FENCING Scott Vaeth went 3-0 in sabre in wins against Centereach and Brentwood for Ward Melville (12-0), as the Patriots work on another unbeaten season.

10. LONG BEACH ICE HOCKEY Dormant this week, Long Beach is on a 13 game win streak as it prepares for today's quarterfinal game against No. 8 East Islip, and a chance to solidify its standing as an unlikely Suffolk powerhouse. The Marines have allowed just 45 goals all season*a Suffolk low*and have allowed two or less goals in 12 games this year.

Marlaina Sherman, Miller Place, girls basketball: She had career highs of 32 points and 23 rebounds in a 62-44 win over Rocky Point.

Sarah Smith, Southold, girls basketball: The senior averaged 16.3 points in three wins, hit a game-winner against Mercy, and scored a career-high 27 points against Port Jefferson.

Catalina Vasquez, Connetquot, girls basketball: The junior averaged 23 points, 14 rebounds in two wins, including a career-high 30 points and 18 rebounds in a 53-45 win over Bay Shore to clinch a playoff spot.

Patrick Yang, Great Neck South, boys swimming: Yang won the 100-yard freestyle (49.70) and 50-free (22.83) and was part of the winning 200-medley relay (1:40.40) and 200-free relay (1:31.87) as Great Neck South won the Division A championships.

Andrew Fenn, Chaminade, boys bowling: Rolled a 297 in Game 2 of a 706 series in the CHSAA quarterfinals.

Lena Sorrentino, East Islip, girls bowling: Bowled a 758 series (241.2 average) to lead the Redmen to a Suffolk championship.

Sara Ronde, Northport, girls track: Ronde won the 55-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump at the Suffolk Large School championships.

Mark Jackson, Longwood, boys track: Jackson won the 55-meter dash in 6.66 seconds at the Suffolk Large schools championships.

Evan Maxwell, East Islip, boys basketball: The junior scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a 48-45 victory over Copiague. He also had 17 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Smithtown East.

Achraf Yacoubou, Lutheran, boys basketball: The senior had 24 points and 19 rebounds, as Lutheran scored a season-high 93 points in a 93-67 win over Albany Academy.
