Bloch spurs Clarke's rally
David Bloch had four of his 14 kills in the deciding fifth game as Clarke overcame a two-game deficit in a 3-2 win over Wantagh in Nassau Conference VI boys volleyball Wednesday.
Brandon Aran added seven of his 25 digs in the final game in Clarke's 14-25, 13-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-22 victory. Bloch also had five aces and two blocks, Tyler Mengel added 10 kills and Alex Evangelatos chipped in 48 assists for Clarke.
Roslyn 3, Jericho 1: Stephen Levy had 30 assists, six kills, three blocks and 11 digs, Alex Guberinkoff had 13 kills, nine digs, and 12 assists, and John Choi had six kills and 24 digs to lead Roslyn in a 25-21, 22-25, 25-13, 25-19 win in Conference IV.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Uniondale 3, Freeport 2: Artiana Wynder and Jayda Hyatt totaled 27 kills in Uniondale's 18-25, 11-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-16 come-from-behind victory in Conference AA-II.
West Babylon 3, Whitman 2: Paige O'Connor had 30 kills and five blocks and Brooke Doherty added 30 assists and three aces to lead West Babylon in a 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 27-25, 25-21 win in a non-league match.
BOYS GOLF
Bayport-Blue Point 7, Bellport 2:Michael Giannico shot an even-par 36 and Jon Keyes shot a 1-over-par 37 to lead Bayport-Blue Point at West Sayville Golf Club.
Longwood 7, Mt. Sinai 2:Brian Zhang shot a 1-over-par 36 for Longwood on the back nine at Tall Grass Country Club.
