A look at the top high school boys bowlers on Long Island as the 2016 season gets underway. (Listed in alphabetical order.)

Noah Axinn, Middle Country, sophomore

Expect to see this name atop the Suffolk leader board for years to come. The talented Newfield High School sophomore is tied for fifth in Suffolk with a 227.7 average.

Willie Bedoya, Clarke, sophomore

The sophomore has sparked Clarke with a 200 average so far this season.

Bryan Bono, Holy Trinity, senior

Finished second in the CHSAA individual championship last season. The senior, who has a 208 average, will be counted upon heavily by the Titans.

Nick Brusseler, Chaminade, senior

The senior captain -- who has a 206 average -- hopes to lead a deep and talented Flyers squad to their sixth straight CHSAA team championship.

Anthony Cioffi, North Babylon, junior

The junior is just outside the Suffolk top 10 with a 218.3 average. He has been consistent so far this season with series of 638, 665 and 663.

Alex Cruz, Kellenberg, senior

Cruz leads a senior-laden team with a 201 average, and looks to help the Firebirds push Chaminade in the competitive CHSAA.

Jake Diamond, Bethpage, senior

The senior leads the Golden Eagles with a 205 average this season and has rolled a 623 series.

Ryan DiMaggio, Sachem, senior

A returning starter from Sachem's 2016 state championship team. The senior is second in Suffolk with a 231.2 average and has rolled series of 704 and 754.

Chris Dumas, Sachem, senior

The senior is fourth in Suffolk with a 227.8 average. Dumas, who has thrown a team-best 757 series this season, will be counted on by coach Brian Weinstein.

Brandon Epp, Rocky Point, freshman

Has been on the varsity since seventh grade. Bowled a 300 game as an eighth grader. Currently holds a 223 average, which is eighth-best in Suffolk.

Joe Franzese, East Meadow, senior

The returning All-County bowler has increased his average from 207 a year ago to 220 this season for an East Meadow team that is always in the hunt for a Nassau title.

Joseph Gambino, Riverhead, senior

Gambino is seventh in Suffolk with a 224.5 average. Boasts a 275 high game and 734 series for Riverhead.

Joe Guido, Patchogue-Medford, sophomore

The sophomore has twice rolled a 266 this season and has thrown a 718 series. Guido is 10th in Suffolk with a 218.7 average for the tough Raiders.

Bryan Hirsch, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, junior

Hirsch has a team-best 215 average this season, and has rolled a high game of 268 and top series of 674 for the Hawks.

Paul Igel, Chaminade, sophomore

The sophomore has been one of the Flyers' most consistent bowlers with a team-best 209.8 average. Igel will be counted upon to help Chaminade continue its dominance in the CHSAA.

Tony Macchietto, Mineola, senior

Currently the top bowler in Nassau and Long Island with a 233.1 average. Two-time Nassau sectional team member has been All-County since his first varsity season -- in eighth grade.

Justin Orobello, East Islip, junior

Orobello is currently averaging 210 this season. Also played wide receiver and cornerback for EI's Suffolk championship football team this year.

Daniel Petriello, Commack, senior

One of the top bowlers on Long Island with a 230.5 average, Petriello bowled an 800 series last season. The senior leads a talented Cougars team.

Peter Ramos, West Babylon, senior

The Eagles' anchor is one of only two returning members of the Suffolk All-Star team that won the 2016 state sectional title. Ramos has a 221.2 average this season.

Ian Randman, Bellmore-Merrick, senior

The Mepham student leads a talented Bellmore-Merrick team with a 219 average and a 720 high series this season.

Jason Richards, Clarke, senior

Richards is averaging 200 this season and has rolled a high game of 258.

Steven Santiago, Valley Stream District, junior

The junior has twice rolled a 661 series this season. A varsity bowler since eighth grade, Santiago is averaging 220 in the early going.

Kurt Schall, Middle Country, senior

Perhaps, the top high school bowler on Long Island. Schall, who attends Centereach, is a two-handed bowler, has a Suffolk-best 231.7 average this season.

Ryan Sellinger, Mineola, senior

Sports a 217.4 average and is another key bowler for the Mustangs, who have both quality and depth as one of Nassau's top teams.

Sean Walsh, Connetquot, senior
