Roundup: Larcher puts Floral Park in control
Kai Larcher's three-pointer with one minute left put Floral Park ahead by one point and Lloyd Wheeler added a free-throw with 15 seconds left to secure the 63-61 win for the Knights (1-3) over Sewanhaka Thursday in Nassau non-conference boys basketball. Wheeler had a career-high 26 points.
Wheatley 50, Roosevelt 42: Freshman Joshua Hyon had a career-high 18 points on six three-pointers to lead Wheatley (1-2) in non-league. This is the 250th win for Wheatley coach Jim Curcio.
South Side 63, Hewlett 53: Ryan Spadaford had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead South Side (4-1) in non-league.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Floral Park 55, Valley Stream North 47: Freshman Lorraine Hickman had a career-high 23 points to lead Floral Park (5-1) in non-league. Kaela Hilaire added 20 points, nine assists and seven steals and Valerie Fox had 12 points.
Harborfields 57, Eastport-South Manor 43: Lexi O'Connor had 17 points and Kasey Stolba had 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Harborfields (1-0) in League V.
Kings Park 48, Shoreham-Wading River 26: Daniele Buoncore had 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead Kings Park (6-0) in non-league.
Upper Room 58, Lexington 38: Eighth-grader Sydney Zambrotta scored a career-high 51 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Upper Room (1-2) in IPPSAL on Tuesday.
