Chavaughn Lewis, the highly-lauded shooting guard who helped lead St. Mary's to a CHSAA state title and a 29-1 record, has verbally committed to Marist College, according to coach Bill Harkins.

Lewis, who averaged 23.4 points per game, including a 30-point performance against Mount St. Michael in the state final, is expected to sign sometime in the next two weeks, sources said. He's expected to be joined by Christ the King guard and childhood friend TJ Curry.

Marist went 6-27 this year, but have brought in some key signees this year in Isaiah Morton, the Coney Island point guard and South Jersey Player of the Year who set a record 2,289 points for St. Augustine Prep and led them to a state championship.

Lewis also courted offers from LIU and Norfolk State.
