Here is an early rundown of the Top 10 players for the annual Sandler Award presented to most outstanding player in Suffolk. This list, presented alphabetically, is sure to chance throughout the season.
Tajric Boggs, Longwood. Averages 13 points and countless steals for 7-0 Lions, the highest scoring team on Long Island. Had 17 points in Tuesday’s League I victory over Brentwood.
Darien Croft, Amityville. Quick guard is one of highest scorers in county at 22.1 ppg. Had career-high 37 in non-league game vs. Locust Valley.
Connor Fedge, Bellport Aggressive, high-scoring forward is averaging 19.2 ppg, including 24 in Tuesday’s victory over West Babylon.
Khaleev Ginyard, St. John the Baptist. Streak-shooting guard scored 16 of his 19 in the second half of the Cougars’ double-OT victory over St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
Nick Galasso, West Islip. Lacrosse All-American is having a big year on the court, averaging 17.6 points per game, including 18 in Tuesday’s loss to
Tobias Harris, Hills West. Has 49 points and 33 rebounds in the Colts’ two victories. Tennessee-bound forward scored 28 and grabbed 18 rebounds in Monday’s win over Copiague.
Dantre Langhorne, Greenport. He’s the do-everything star for the struggling Porters, averaging 24.3 ppg., including 25 in Tuesday’s loss to Southold.
Sean McCarthy, Kings Park. Sharp-shooting guard has averaged 18.3 for 7-1 Kingsmen, including 24 Tuesday in a win over Huntington.
Matt McLeod, Harborfields. All-around guard is averaging 21.1 ppg, including 22 in Tuesday’s victory over Rocky Point.
Kamil Parzych, Lindenhurst. Bouncing back nicely from serious summer knee injury to average 15 ppg, including 17 in tough lost to Central Islip Tuesday.
