Adam Ronis here live from Middletown High School for the state Class C final between Friends Academy (14-1-2) and Marathon (16-3-1). The start time has been pushed back after the previous game went to double overtime.

Friends Academy is looking for its second consecutive state championship. The Quakers have scored five goals in two consecutive games and the offense is really clicking. Matt Slotnick leads the team with 28 goals.

FIRST HALF

Friends Academy has scored quickly in the last two games. The Quakers get a chance early just 1:30 into the game and Chris Campbell's shot is saved by Evan Holl.

One minute later, a header by Slotnick goes over the net.

Friends takes a 1-0 lead. Colin Heffron started the push upfield and fed Slotnick for a break away. A defender got close to him and Holl started to come out towards him. Slotnick crossed it to Heffron who took a second to get control and used his left foot to blast it to the upper left corner with 33:32 left. Friends Academy 1, Marathon 0

Friends Academy has been on control. Eli Rousso made a save with 21:20 left on a soft shot.

Friends has another chance to score, but Holl makes the save with 16:30 left.

Chris Campbell dribbles around two defenders and a shot from close range is stopped by Holl one minute later.

Slotnick dribbles around a double team and blasts a shot and Holl makes a diving save. He has six saves with 11:47 left.

Friends now leads 2-0. Heffron took a shot that was stopped and the rebound came to A.J. Muran, who scored with 8:52 left. Friends 2, Marathon 0

All postseason Friends has dominated and its no different here. Holl has kept Marathon in the game with nine saves.

HALFTIME: Friends Academy 2, Marathon 0

The second half is underway.

Campbell almsot creates a goal by getting past several defenders and sending the ball in front, but somehow it doesn't go in with two Quakers in front. Holl got control of the ball and held on five minutes in,

Campbell gets taken down in the box and scores on a penalty kick to the right side with 24:01 left.
