Romanowski's header gives South Side boys 'A' title

For the second consecutive season, South Side is county champions. Second-seeded South Side defeated No. 4 Wantagh, 1-0, last night in the Nassau Class A boys soccer county championship game at Hofstra.
South Side (14-1-3) took the lead 11:14 into the game when Mark Romanowski scored on a header off a cross from Ben Tetelman. Deven Khosla made four saves in the shutout.
South Side, which has allowed three goals all season, will play the winner of Sayville-Glenn in the Long Island Class A final / Southeast Regional final at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Dowling Sports Complex.
The winner will advance to the state semifinals in Middletown. Wantagh finishes at 11-2-5.
