Capozzi, Hanley lift Chaminade golfers

Nick Capozzi and Mike Hanley both shot par 35 on the front nine at Deepdale Golf Club to lift Chaminade to a 7-0 win over St. Mary's in a CHSAA boys golf match Monday.

John Reali shot 1-over 36 and Griffin McQuilling and Chris Bleck each finished at 2-over 37 for the Flyers (8-0).

St. John the Baptist 4, Holy Trinity 3:Chris Rowlinson shot 3-over 38 on the front nine at Stonebridge to win a sudden-death playoff match to lead St. John the Baptist (4-2) in CHSAA. Rowlinson hit a 30-foot putt on the second hole during the sudden-death round.

GIRLS BADMINTON

St. John the Baptist 4, Holy Trinity 3:Alexa Sloane and Gabrielle Gissi defeated Ashley D'Avito and Megan Diaz, 21-11, 21-11, in second doubles for St. John the Baptist (7-1) in CHSAA.Our Lady of Mercy 7, Sacred Heart 0:Silvana Morra defeated Nally Ann Scaturro, 15-21, 21-17, 21-15, at second singles for Our Lady of Mercy (6-1) in CHSAA.

GIRLS TRACK

Comsewogue 92, Deer Park 58: Rachael Colasanto won the triple jump (31 feet, 7 1/2 inches) and the long jump (13-8 1/2) to lead Comsewogue (2-1) in League V. Samantha Kane finished first in the discus (95-6) and took second in the shot put (25-61/2) in the win.

BOYS TENNIS

Glenn 4, Brentwood 3:Joe Badlato and Tom Cresci defeated Wil Vasquez and Noman Hamlani, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the deciding third doubles match for Glenn (1-6) in League I.St. Anthony's 7, St. Dominic 0:Chris Schwab won at first singles, 4-6, 6-0, (13-7) to lift St. Anthony's (9-0) in CHSAA.
