Cheschini's first goal a winner for MP

Junior Taylor Cheschini's first career goal also proved to be the game-winner in Miller Place's 9-8 non-league girls lacrosse win over visiting Sachem East Thursday. The unassisted score gave the Panthers, who trailed 4-1 at halftime, a 9-7 lead with 5:10 left in the second half. Casey Brown, who finished with four goals, gave Miller Place an 8-6 lead with 8:27 to go. Tiana Parrella added a goal and three assists, and Marissa Doyen made 14 saves. Katie Trombetta led Sachem East with three goals.

Eastport-South Manor 14, Sachem North 9: Allison Gionta and Lisa Terry each scored three goals for Eastport-South Manor. Dene DiMartino and Angelica Fuccillo each added two goals and an assist, and Samantha Giacolone made 13 saves. Nicole Dale and Jessica Mazliah each had two goals and an assist for Sachem North.

Seaford 15, Lynbrook 9: Emma Schait scored five goals with an assist for Seaford. Amelia Taylor added four goals and an assist, and Casey Palmer had three goals and two assists. Julie Wigand scored five goals for Lynbrook.

Port Washington 21, Friends Academy 12: Alexa Froccaro scored eight goals with one assist for Port Washington. Christina Commons added four goals and one assist and Danielle Rosmarin had three goals and two assists. Alix Heffron led Friends Academy with three goals.

BOYS LACROSSE

Whitman 12, Harborfields 9: Kevin Teresky, Myles Jones and Vincent Colapinto each had three goals and one assist for Whitman in non-league. Daniel Friedman made 14 saves. Greg FitzMaurice and Brendan Holihan each had two goals and an assist for Harborfields.

Middle Country 12, Hauppauge 6: Senior Tyler Meigel scored a career high six goals for Middle Country. Tom Telesca added two goals and three assists, and Chris Stempke and Matt Knapp each scored two goals. Sam Llinares led Hauppauge with two goals and one assist.

Syosset 11, South Side 7: Ryan Hunter scored four goals and Andrew Keith added two goals and an assist for Syosset. Rob Storrie had two goals and Ryan Feit made 12 saves. Zach Scaduto scored four goals for South Side.

Bethpage 22, Plainview JFK 5: Senior Tom Engelhardt scored a career high eight goals with one assist for Bethpage in the first round of the Fran McCall tournament. Ryan Walsh added five goals and Ryan Mahon had three goals and four assists. Sal DeGaetano led Plainview JFK with two goals.

Brentwood 6, Babylon 1: Cliff Pierre and Jorge De La Cruz defeated Ethan Lipman and Peter Taggart, 7-5, 0-6, 6-3, at second doubles for Brentwood in League IV.

Bayport-Blue Point 5, Eastport-South Manor 2: Chad Stevens defeated Jordan Reilley, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at second singles for Bayport-Blue Point in non-league.

Harborfields 7, Miller Place 0: Jake Brenner defeated Connor Geloke, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) at second singles for Harborfields.
