DiSalvo, Cooper rally Hewlett

Samantha DiSalvo had 15 kills and Elyse Cooper chipped in four kills and two aces as Hewlett overcame a one-game deficit for a 2-1 win over visiting New Hyde Park in a Nassau Conference A-II girls volleyball match Friday.

Vanessa Collins added 26 assists and five aces as Hewlett, which won the first game 25-20, dropped the next two, 19-25 and 17-25. The Bulldogs swept the final two games, 25-13 and 25-10.

Garden City 3, Syosset 1: Emily LaCorte had 14 kills and eight aces, Noelle Byrne had 13 kills and 16 digs, Jackie Jahelka had 20 assists, and Jackie Seskin added 17 assists to lead Garden City to a 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 win in non-league.

Elmont 3, Carey 2: Jennifer Suprena had two kills and Kadijah Smith had three aces, to lift Elmont to a 25-14, 17-25, 25-22, 10-25, 25-21 non-league win.

Glen Cove 3, Great Neck North 1: Gabriella Ermmarino had 10 kills, Jasmine Battle had 12 kills, and Meghan O'Connell had 28 assists and five aces to lead Glen Cove in a 25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 25-21 Conference A-III win.

Sayville 3, Miller Place 2: Kayla Mergl had 44 assists, Alexis Brown had 21 kills and Helen Tristano added 13 digs to lead Sayville to a 25-13, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 25-23 win in League VI.

Babylon 3, Mercy 0: Christine Desiderio had 12 consecutive service points in the second set to lead Babylon to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-21 win in non-league.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Massapequa 3, Port Washington 1: Christian Smith had 14 assists and two aces and Chris Husmann added 11 kills and four blocks to lead Massapequa to a 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16 victory in Nassau Conference AA-I.

Great Neck South 3, East Meadow 2: Justin Rodriguez had eight digs to lead Great Neck South 5-22, 17-25, 24-26, 25-13, 25-14, in Conference AA-I.

Huntington 3, Center Moriches 1: John McCarthy had 20 kills, Michael Sullivan had 13 kills and Ryan Casale added 36 assists to lead Huntington to a 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 win in Suffolk League III.
