Edwards scores winner for Sayville
Dakota Edwards scored with 2:46 left in the second overtime off a corner kick from Jared Vanbrunt to lift Sayville over Eastport-South Manor, 3-2, yesterday in League V boys soccer.
Tyler McKenna scored twice and Vanbrunt had three assists for the Golden Flashes. Jason Orban made 18 saves for ESM.
Southampton 2, Mattituck 1: Marcelo Carbalho scored with two seconds left in overtime for Southampton in League VII. Mattituck's Minor Javier had tied it with 4:00 left in regulation. Senior Mattias Ruiz scored his 50th career goal for the Mariners.
Pierson/Bridgehampton 1, Stony Brook 0: Oscar Reinoso scored with 1:38 remaining in overtime for Pierson/Bridgehampton in League VIII.
Syosset 2, Farmingdale 1: Shane Mandel scored with 15 minutes left to give Syosset a 2-0 lead in AA-I.
GIRLS SOCCER
St. Dominic 3, Holy Trinity 2: Christiana Chopyk's goal in the 61st minute gave St. Dominic a 3-0 lead en route to its first win since 2009, according to coach Steven Fusco. Katie O'Brien scored twice, Mimi Grassi added two assists and sophomore Danielle Fogarty made a career-high 22 saves for the Bayhawks (1-2) in CHSAA.
St. Anthony's 1, Kellenberg 1: Margo McGinty tied it with 30 seconds left for St. Anthony's in CHSAA. Christina Akalski had given Kellenberg the lead in the sixth minute.
Syosset 2, Herricks 1: Diana Saber scored both goals and Connor Bird assisted on both to lead Syosset in AA-II.
FIELD HOCKEY
Garden City 3, Manhasset 0: Alexandra Bruno had two goals and an assist to lead Garden City in Conference I. Laura Fanning had a save in the shutout.
Sayville 5, Connetqout 0: Taylor Mills scored four goals for Sayville in Division II.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Uniondale 58, Herricks 38: Junior Chaya Hairston won the dive with a personal-best 137 to lead Uniondale.
GIRLS TENNIS
Jericho 4, Hewlet 3: Elianne Gabbay and Taylor Lashley defeated Brooke Gotlieb and Arielle Biddon, 6-2, 6-4, in first doubles for Jericho.
Bethpage 4, Wantagh 3: Chelsea Levy and Christine Ryan beat Arianna Caffery and Laura Mallon, 6-2, 6-1, in fourth doubles for Bethpage.
