Fenn's 297 helps Chaminade gain bowling semis
Junior Andrew Fenn rolled a 297 in Game 2 of a 706 series and Nick Niles added a 231 game to lead Chaminade (10-3) over Kellenberg, 1,168-901, 1,289-880, 1,079-935, Monday in the NSCHSAA boys bowling quarterfinals. Fenn missed out on a perfect game after rolling a seven on the third ball of the 10th frame. The mark was a career high with the Flyers, though Fenn has rolled a perfecto in Saturday league play. Chaminade faces St. John the Baptist in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Farmingdale Lanes.
St. John the Baptist 3, St. Mary's 0: Justin Figueroa bowled a 267 in Game 2 of a 743 series for St. John the Baptist (11-2) in a 1,203-850, 1,274-919, 1,115-819 NSCHSAA quarterfinal win.
St. Dominic tops St. Anthony's: Jeremy Velarde rolled a 225 in Game 1 of a 591 series and Matt Reid rolled a 200 in Game 2 of a 510 series for St. Dominic, which won, 5-4, on total match points in the first round of the NSCHSAA playoffs. The Bayhawks' A-squad finished with scores of 1,074-1,025, 978-985, 984-1,138, but their B-squad swept the competition. No. 5 St. Dominic plays No. 1 Holy Trinity at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Farmingdale Llanes.

Bay Shore 157, Northport 124, Sachem North 72: Jessica Gelibert took first in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.77 seconds and the 300 (42.67) as Bay Shore won its 21st consecutive Suffolk League II championship on Sunday. Gelibert set a meet record in the 55 hurdle trials (8.68), besting the previous record of 8.83 set by Farath Raphael (Half Hollow Hills East) in 2008.
Bay Shore's Essence Rogers set a meet record in the 55 (7.44), topping Colby Lubman's 7.56 mark for Commack in 2008. Whitman's Jackie Cruden won the high jump with a meet-record 5-3. The old record of 5-2 was set by Joy Ganes (Bay Shore) in 1995 and matched by Cara Hallahan (Smithtown East) in 2010. Jenn Halloran won the 1500 walk (7:20.56).
