LI PLAYER OF THE YEAR

ALEXANDRA BRUNO

Garden City, M, Sr.

JESSICA CARUANA

Sachem East, D, Sr.

Defense won the Flaming Arrows a Class A state title, and Caruana was the catalyst all season. A little offense helped, too. The lock-down defender scored the winning penalty stroke in the state final.

SAVANNAH FEBESH

Friends Academy, M, Sr.

She showcased an array of slick moves en route to 27 points (15 goals) and led the Quakers from an 0-5 start to their first Long Island Class C title since 2006.

CASEY HEELY

Rocky Point, G, Sr.

Led the Eagles to their first Suffolk Class B final and had the stats (.914 save percentage and nine shutouts) to prove she was Long Island's top goalie.

VICTORIA KOTOWSKI

Cold Spring Harbor, F, Sr.

The All-State selection scored 21 points and led the Seahawks to their first Nassau Class B final. Kotowski earned a reputation for being clutch with seven winning and three tying goals the last two seasons.

TARA MAHON

Garden City, M, Sr.

Her impact wasn't often reflected in the box score (seven points), just in all the games. Disruptive on defense and a speedy playmaker on offense, she helped lead the Trojans to a seventh straight L.I. title.

TAYLOR MILLS

Sayville, F, Jr.

Her teammates made the bold prediction that Mills would lead Long Island in goals. And Mills DID lead L.I. with 21 goals, and she won the Suffolk Class B final with a penalty stroke.

MADDY MOLINARI

Manhasset, F, Jr.

A dual-threat forward with stellar stick skills and savvy, she had 14 goals and a county-high 16 assists in leading the Indians to the Nassau Class B semifinals.

KELSEY O'BRIEN

Massapequa, F, Sr.

She did it again. The Navy-bound star led Nassau with 17 goals for a second straight season and her team to a third consecutive Class A county crown.

VANESSA PRYOR

Ward Melville, M, Sr.

Intangibles: "Her leadership, work ethic and passion were contagious," Patriots coach Shannon Watson said of the Northeastern-bound Pryor. Some tangibles: 17 points, including five winning goals, leading Ward Melville to the Suffolk Class A final.

MEGAN ROONEY

Smithtown East, F, Sr.

The two-time All-Long Islander has long been a terror in the circle, but she exploded this season with 28 points (14 goals) and led the Bulls to the Suffolk Class A semifinals.

KASEY STOLBA

Harborfields, M, Sr.

Playing half her games on a grass field and competing in a tough Suffolk Division I didn't stop her from dominating. She led Suffolk with 29 points and guided Harborfields to the Class B semifinals.

KATIE TROMBETTA

Sachem East, M, So.

Described by coaches as "a phenom" and "the total package," she had 28 points and led Sachem East to its first state Class A title. The 10th-grader is already a two-time All-Long Island and All-Region selection.
