They'll gather around the fax machine in Bellport Wednesday morning and football coach Joe Cipp Jr. will send a letter of intent from All-Long Island and MSG Varsity's All-Metro first-team selection Ryan Sloan to Syracuse University. Sloan is expected to sign with the Orange to play football next season.
"We're very excited about Ryan's future," Cipp Jr. said. "It's the biggest moment of his life. He's ready to play at the next level and earn a college education. He's worked very hard for this opportunity."
Sloan, a 6-3, 320-pound offensive lineman, headlines a contingent of L.I. football players expected to commit to colleges Wednesday on national signing day.
Hewlett defensive end Niv Sultan, a 6-4, 255-pounder, is expected to sign with Harvard. Freeport's Class I title team will send at least two of its players into the college ranks. Terrell Brown, a 6-2, 285-pound offensive lineman, will be headed to Bryant and wide receiver Jeff Williams (6-2, 195) is going to Delaware.
Karim Mohammed of Lawrence, an offensive lineman, is expected to sign with Stony Brook.
