Tom Rowley's 43-yard touchdown run, his fourth rushing score of the game, with 1:53 left gave Long Beach the lead and Zamar Allen's sack on the final play sealed a 35-28 win over Mepham in Nassau II yesterday. Rowley ran for 223 yards on 23 carries and was 6-for-18 for 134 yards and one TD passing. Chris Parler had 112 yards and a TD on five catches, Matt Ferpo made seven tackles and Adam Salvadori made four with two sacks for Long Beach (4-3). Mepham is 4-3.

Elmont 38, Jericho 20: Senior Qusarn Caldwell had a career-high 211 yards on 14 carries with two touchdowns, including a 66-yard scoring run on the first play of the second half, to lead Elmont (5-2) over Jericho (2-5). Will Faison was 6-for-16 for 98 yards and two TDs, Dennis Melendez had three carries for 59 yards and a TD and Ben Odugbesan had a 48-yard TD catch. Jeff Frenya, Chris Henry and Pat LaRoque each had seven tackles for Elmont.

Calhoun 42, Great Neck South 16: Julian Lee had 183 yards and two TDs on 15 carries and brother Brandon Lee added 89 yards and a TD on six carries for Calhoun (3-4). Zach Mastrangelo scored twice, catching a 32-yard TD pass from Matt Brennan in the second quarter and returning an interception 27 yards for a score in the fourth quarter. Robert Rink added five tackles and one sack.

New Hyde Park 51, Carle Place/Wheatley 20: Diego Dilone ran for 82 yards and a TD on 11 carries to lead New Hyde Park (5-2) over Carle Place/Wheatley (3-4). Nick Perrone was 8-for-11 for 89 yards and a TD. After Carle Place/Wheatley took a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter, New Hyde Park put together a 14-play 78-yard drive that ended with a Fran Terrero TD run to start a run of 34 straight points. Josh Lee had six tackles, a sack, and an interception. Chris Comito ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries for Carle Place/Wheatley.

Wantagh 35, Westbury 0: Matt Balzano opened the game with an 86-yard kickoff return for a TD for Wantagh (6-1), beginning a four TD game for the senior running back. Balzano added two rushing TDs and one receiving TD, all in the first quarter. Joe Giardina had 50 yards on five carries and Nick Mullen was 5-for-5 for 103 yards and two TDs. Wantagh's defense recorded its third shutout of the season. Pete Brasile had eight solo tackles.

Bellmore JFK 28, Herricks 7: Tom Ferner had 105 yards and a touchdown on six carries to lead Bellmore JFK (4-3) in its fourth straight win on Friday night. Matt Delbianco had 103 yards and a score on 12 carries and added 11 tackles. Senior Steven Weitzman had a career-high four sacks to go with four tackles. Herricks is 1-6.
