Cunningham's TD helps Generals hold on
Gerard Cunningham scored on a 1-yard run with nine minutes left in the game to give MacArthur an eight-point lead, and the Generals survived a late Oceanside push for a 20-18 win Saturday in Nassau I football.
Justin Buckley's 24-yard TD run with 5:58 left cut Oceanside's deficit to just two points, but Oceanside (3-4) threw an incomplete pass on fourth-and-10 from the MacArthur 22 with two minutes remaining, forcing a turnover on downs and sealing the win for MacArthur (6-1).
Cunningham had 28 yards and three rushing touchdowns on eight carries and Joe Tangredi had 12 tackles.
Henry connected with Ken Woodard on a 37-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter to give Uniondale a 20-14 lead. Syosset is 1-6. Massapequa 49, Farmingdale 28: Matt Pagano went 10 of 11 for 195 yards with four TDs to lead Massapequa (5-2). Pagano also ran for a 12-yard touchdown.
Muller finished with five catches for 102 yards and two TDs. Rob Flood and Jack Korber also added touchdown receptions. Taylor Bocchiaro and Vassili Grigorakos had rushing scores.
Anthony Torano had seven tackles and one sack and John Dillon had 11 tackles. Farmingdale is 3-4. Baldwin 48, Port Washington 20: Pat Dillon was 4-for-6 for 102 yards and two TDs and added a 90-yard TD run to lead Baldwin (5-2). Derek Darnulc had a 55-yard TD reception, five tackles and a sack for Baldwin.
