D-I: Two-point conversion the difference for Pat-Med
Joe Altrui ran around left end for the eventual game-winning two-point conversion for Patchogue-Medford (3-4), in a 27-26 victory yesterday over Ward Melville in Suffolk I.
Jack Keough capped an eight minute drive on a quarterback sneak up the middle for a 2-yard touchdown with 3:27 left in the game.
The Raiders trailed 26-13 at half but drew to within 26-19 on Keough's 58-yard pass to Trevor Jacobsen in the third quarter.
Chris Makulik had 133 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries, while Altrui added 32 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Alistair Streat made a sack on fourth-and-long to end the game, while middle linebacker Mike McKee had 14 tackles. Ward Melville falls to 2-5.
Floyd 42, Connetquot 14: Stacey Bedell had 23 carries for 241 yards and four touchdowns to lead Floyd on Friday night. Jonathan Martinez had three receptions for 76 yards and one touchdown and A.J. Otranto was 8-for-10 passing for 118 yards and two touchdowns for Floyd (6-1). Miguel Brennin had six tackles and one sack. Connetquot is 1-6.
Ousmane Camara had 10 tackles and Shakore Philip had eight tackles and a sack. Eato and Joel Nunez each added an interception. Central Islip is 0-7.
Sachem North 56, Brentwood 14: Dalton Crossan amassed 161 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, including a 75-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and added a 32-yard touchdown reception from Michael O'Donnell to lead Sachem North (6-1).
Malik Pierre had 125 yards and two touchdowns on just two carries. He had a 59-yard run to open the scoring midway through the first quarter and a 66-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Tyler Andreassi added four carries for 58 yards and two touchdowns as Sachem North finished with 488 rushing yards. Brentwood is 2-5.
