Valley Stream North's Joe Munson wins Jay Fiedler Award as Nassau's top scholar-athlete

Senior Joe Munson of Valley Stream North was named the winner of the Jay Fiedler Award, presented to the top scholar athlete at the Nassau County Football Coaches Association banquet at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Munson earned the award as part of the Golden 11 selected by the National Football Foundation and the Nassau County football coaches.
The 6-0, 170-pound Munson was a two-way starter at center and linebackerfor the Spartans. He performed extremely well in the classroom with a 100.5 weighted average and a 1,370 SAT score.
