Gomez's field goal gives Westhampton win

Dan Gomez kicked a 22-yard field goal with 52 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to give Westhampton a 24-21 win over Miller Place Thursday in Suffolk III football. The winning field goal was set up by Brian Curry's 33-yard run on a fake punt that Westhampton (4-1) ran from its own 33-yard line on fourth-and-4 with 1:40 left. On Miller Place's final possession, Westhampton defensive linemen Connor Raynor and Mark McCue sacked Miller Place's Matt Hinchy on fourth down with seven seconds left to seal the victory. Westhampton's Jack Murphy completed 10 of 15 for 120 yards with a touchdown and added two rushing scores. Miller Place is 3-2.
Floyd 42, Northport 7: Stacey Bedell had 15 carries for 335 yards and five TDs to lead Floyd (4-1) in Suffolk I. Bedell had TD runs of 96 and 95 yards on consecutive possessions. Miguel Brennin had 11 tackles and an interception. Northport is 2-3.
Lindenhurst 30, Ward Melville 8: Joe Lukralle and David Fowler each scored two rushing TDs to lead Lindenhurst (4-1) in Suffolk I. Keith Meisner had 12 tackles and one fumble recovery in the win. Ward Melville is 1-4.
Bay Shore 13, Commack 0: Senior Luke Rock had 19 carries for a career-high 143 yards and a TD for Bay Shore (1-4) in Suffolk I. Stanley Constant had three sacks and Ousmane Camara had 13 tackles and a sack for the Marauders. Commack is 2-3.
West Islip 42, Central Islip 12: Chris Belyski rushed for 106 yards on six carries and a TD and Anthony Santo threw two TDs for West Islip (4-1) in Suffolk I. Mike Anaboli had six tackles and Pat Ryan added four tackles in the win. Central Islip is 0-5.
Sachem North 32, Connetquot 19: Dalton Crossan had 14 carries for 220 yards and three TDs to lead Sachem North (5-0) in Suffolk I. Crossan has 19 touchdowns this season. Anthony Ross had six carries for 70 yards and a TD and Malik Pierre had three carries for 35 yards and a TD for the Flaming Arrows. Connetquot is 1-4.
Sayville 40, Harborfields 13: Steven Ferreira went 14-for-19 for 258 yards with two TDs for Sayville (5-0) in Suffolk III. Tom Hannan returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a TD and John Haggart had three catches for 82 yards with two TDs for Sayville. Kevin O'Connor had seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Harborfields is 2-3.
Bellport 44, Eastport-South Manor 19: Justin Honce completed 14 of 24 for 245 yards and four TDs for Bellport (3-2) in Suffolk III. According to coach Joe Cipp III, Honce set a school record for most touchdown passes in a game. Alejando Morales had four catches for 108 yards and two TDs. Jason Conley, Connor Cipp, and Eddie Carson each had 10 tackles for Bellport. Easport-South Manor is 2-3.
Islip 48, East Hampton 7: Tyler Southard rushed for 122 yards on nine carries and a touchdown to lead Islip (3-2) in Suffolk II. East Hampton is 0-5.
East Islip 31, Smithtown West 0: Pete Hanabergh rushed for 170 yards on 13 carries and Tyler Rigo had two TD runs for East Islip (3-2) in Suffolk II. Smithtown West is 0-5.
Half Hollow Hills East 35, Smithtown East 14: Jake Gneiser had 81 yards on 17 rushes and three catches for 80 yards and a score to lead Hills East (3-2) in Suffolk II. R.J. Nitti threw for 228 yards and three TDs and also added a rushing score. Malik Henry added 11 tackles. Smithtown East is 0-5.
West Babylon 34, Half Hollow Hills West 28: Matt Ballone's 50-yard TD reception with 2:07 remaining was the winning score for West Babylon (5-0) in Suffolk II. Ballone had five receptions for 133 yards and three scores while Clifton Melhado was 20 of 28 for 342 yards and four TDs. Michael Richardson had 12 catches for 181 yards and Reggie Robinson had 15 tackles and added 115 yards on 17 carries and a TD. Richardson added seven tackles and two interceptions, and Rashaad Cooper added nine tackles and a fumble recovery. Hills West is 2-3.
Huntington 21, Rocky Point 0: Senior Quaran Carter had a career-high 221 yards on 18 carries and a TD for Huntington (2-3) in Suffolk III. Carter's 70-yard TD run with 9:28 left gave Huntington a 14-0 lead. Jack Forster led the Blue Devils with 12 tackles as Rocky Point (0-5) converted only three first downs.Glenn 42, Greenport 7: Rich Czeczotka was 7-for-10 for 135 yards and two TDs and rushed for two TDs to lead Glenn (5-0) in Suffolk IV. Greenport is 1-4.
Babylon 43, Bayport-Blue Point 27: Grant Shannon had 20 carries for 119 yards with three TDs to lead Babylon (3-2) in Suffolk IV. Bayport-Blue Point (0-5) rallied in the fourth quarter, cutting the Babylon lead to nine points, but Shannon iced the game with his third touchdown on a 2-yard run with 1:23 left in the game. Zach Fredericks had 10 carries for 163 yards and one TD on a 49-yard run. Nahari Jenkins had three interceptions.
Shoreham-Wading River 43, Stony Brook 13: Tyler Anderson had 10 carries for 190 yards and two TDs and returned an interception 40 yards for a score in the second quarter to lead SWR (4-1) in Suffolk IV. Dylan Bates ran for 86 yards and a TD and had seven tackles. Stony Brook is 2-3.
Hampton Bays 40, Mercy 6: Andrew Morris rushed for 132 yards and four TDs to lead Hampton Bays (2-3) in Suffolk IV. Seth Donnen caught a 49-yard TD pass catch in the win. Mercy is 2-3.
