Nassau Conference II football Week 8 recap

Anthony Schettino ran for 248 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries and Devon Gonzalez added 130 yards and two scores on 11 carries for Glen Cove in its 46-24 win over Herricks in Nassau Conference II Friday.
Khaleem Zachary was 5-for-8 passing for 92 yards, two touchdowns to Gio White and a successful two-point conversion pass to White. Aaron Cho had a rushing and receiving score for Herricks. Glen Cove concluded the regular season at 4-4 and Herricks finished 2-6.
Long Beach 26, Sewanhaka 0: Owen Stark rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries and Jack Miller had eight carries for 85 yards and a score to lead Long Beach. The Marines improved to 3-4 and clinched a playoff berth for the first time in four years. Miller also had two interceptions. The first interception led to a 20-yard touchdown pass from Jeff Conway to Christian Tarsia, and the second was returned 60 yards in the fourth quarter to preserve the win. Sewanhaka fell to 1-7.
MacArthur 28, New Hyde Park 7: Steven Weber’s 35-yard interception return set up MacArthur at the 3-yard line, and Ryan Muller’s quarterback sneak opened the scoring in the second quarter for MacArthur. Muller rushed nine times for 79 yards and three scores and James Napoli had 17 carries for 71 yards and a score. MacArthur improved to 7-1 and New Hyde Park fell to 5-3.
Mepham 43, Calhoun 21: Nick Honerkamp ran for 106 yards and four touchdowns and completed 13 of 25 passes for 225 yards to lead Mepham. Dylan Dunn ran for 65 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 110 yards for Mepham (6-2). Logan LoGiudici had five tackles and two sacks. Calhoun fell to 3-5.
Carey 34, Valley Stream Central 6: William Tolliver ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns and Ray Bedien had six tackles, including two for a loss, and a sack to lead Carey. Vincent Tierney had six tackles and a fumble recovery. Carey improved to 4-4 and Valley Stream Central fell to 3-4.
Garden City 34, Elmont 0: Jack Casscaden ran for 187 yards and four touchdowns on 13 carries and Robert Derkasch and Jack Archer each had an interception to lead Garden City. The Trojans improved to 8-0 and Elmont fell to 4-4.
