Nassau IV football roundup
Chris Kelly ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns on five carries to propel No. 2 Carle Place/Wheatley over No. 7 East Rockaway, 42-12, in a Nassau IV quarterfinal Friday night.
The win was the first playoff victory in program history for the Wild Frogs (7-2) according to coach Tim Moran.
Kelly ran for a 58-yard score in the first quarter and scored on a 31-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Wild Frogs
Dom Pascarella’s 5-yard touchdown run in the second gave Carle Place/Wheatley a 21-0 halftime leald. Pascarella finished with 39 yards on five carries. Dayce Niosi added 55 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Carle Place/Wheatley will play No. 4 North Shore Saturday at Hofstra in a semifinal.
Seaford 33, Cold Spring Harbor 7: A.J. Cain completed 3-of-6 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown and ran for 45 yards and two touchdowns on three carries to lead No. 1 Seaford.
Danny Roell had 22 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown and Kevin Murphy had three catches for 109 yards and a touchdown for Seaford (9-0). Jake Brandimarte and Nick Calandra each had a sack and Calandra forced two fumbles.
Seaford will play No. 6 Locust Valley Saturday at Hofstra in a semifinal.
Locust Valley 21, Clarke 0: Thomas O’Brien ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries to lead No. 6 Locust Valley over No. 3 Clarke. Patrick Briody and Jose Maldonado each forced a fumble and Briody and Nick Paniagua each had an interception. Matt Dellaquila had six tackles and J.P. Lagalante added five.
