Nijay Brown kicked a 20-yard field goal in the first overtime to lead Eastport-South Manor (5-1) in its 31-28 win over Bellport Saturday in Suffolk III.

On fourth-and-goal with 27 seconds left in regulation, backup quarterback Matthew Kane dropped back to pass, couldn't find an open receiver and scrambled up the middle for the 5-yard score.

After Brown kicked the game-tying extra point, Bellport missed its subsequent 48-yard field goal to send the game to overtime.

The Sharks trailed by 14 with two minutes left in the first half when linebacker Justin Pugal intercepted a pass and returned it for a 60-yard touchdown with 1:45 left.

Mike Bianco had 14 tackles, three for a loss, and Pat Minogue added 10 tackles and three sacks. Cole Zeller had 27 rushes for 114 yards and a TD.

ESM tied a school record with five wins.
