Plant leads Huntington over Kings Park
Senior Danny Plant completed 4 of 8 passes for a 104 yards and carried 14 times for a career-high 126 yards for Huntington in a 24-14 win over Kings Park in Suffolk III football Saturday.
Plant scored on a 28-yard run in the third quarter to give Huntington (3-3) a 24-7 lead.
Quaron Carter had 14 carries for 112 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that gave Huntington a 14-0 lead. Pat Riley tacked on a 20-yard field goal toward the end of the second quarter to give the Blue Devils a 17-0 lead.
Dave Nelson added 36 yards on nine carries and a touchdown and four tackles and a sack and Trayvon Toney had 11 carries for 68 yards and seven tackles for the Blue Devils. Kings Park falls to 3-3.
Harborfields 22, Comsewogue 0: Travis George's seven-yard TD run, his second of the game, capped an 85-yard drive and gave Harborfields (3-3) a 14-0 lead with 2:27 left in the third quarter in Suffolk III. George's first touchdown, a 5-yard run in the second quarter, gave the Tornadoes a 7-0 lead. George finished with 31 yards rushing on six carries
Connor Coyle had 113 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and 11 tackles. Bobby DeBonis and Dylan Piscitelli each had eight tackles and Kyle Natiello had two sacks in the win. Comsewogue is 3-3.
Miller Place 42, Eastport-South Manor 8: Brett Osman had 18 carries for 231 yards and three first-half touchdowns, including touchdown runs of 26 and 36 yards for Miller Place (4-2). Matt Hinchy had 15 carries for 144 yards and three touchdowns, including second half TD runs of 1 and 28 yards as Miller Place rushed for 428 yards. Hinchy's 44-yard score gave Miller Place a 29-0 halftime lead. Ryan Kelly had nine tackles, two for a loss, and T.J. Castrovinci had six tackles, two for a loss, and a sack. Eastport-South Manor is 2-4.
Rocky Point 35, East Hampton 13: Joe Kingston had 96 yards rushing on 11 carries and three first-half touchdowns to lead Rocky Point (1-5). Kingston's third touchdown, a 25-yard scamper, gave Rocky Point a 28-0 lead. Ryan Palasek scored on a 21-yard pass from Quinten Lambert in the third quarter to cap the scoring for Rocky point.
Nick LaSalla added nine carries for 68 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles totaled 190 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Mike Gilmartin had two interceptions, Zeikei Yazak had six tackles and two for a loss, while Anthony and Vincent Bua each had a sack. Chris Johnson went 5-for-5 on PATs for Rocky Point. East Hampton is 0-6.
