Suffolk Division IV Week 5 roundup
Chris Franzese rushed 32 times for 223 yards and four touchdowns in Glenn’s 45-42 win over Shoreham-Wading River in Suffolk Division IV Saturday. Franzese also went 4-for-13 passing for 93 yards, two touchdowns, ran for a two-point conversion and made nine tackles for Glenn (4-1). Shoreham-Wading River scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to cut Glenn’s lead to three points, but Glenn recovered an onside kick in the waning moments. Graig December caught both receiving touchdowns from Franzese. KaRahn King added 204 yards on 16 carries and had 305 all-purpose yards for Glenn. On defense, Mario Bento made a tackle in the end zone, giving Glenn a safety, and made eight tackles.
Mount Sinai 40, Greenport 6: Jake Spallina rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries for Mount Sinai. His brother, Bret, added 88 yards on three carries, including a 75-yard touchdown that gave Mount Sinai a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Jaden Rotella rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown and threw for 48 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Shea Mullahey. Nathaniel McNally had a 15-yard touchdown run for Mount Sinai (1-4).
Kings Park 51, Center Moriches 7: Mark Griffin rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, all in the first half. Griffin ran for touchdowns of 59, 3, and 59 yards, ran for two two-point conversions and made five tackles. John Flynn rushed for 86 yards, three touchdowns and two-point conversions. Kyle Weeks rushed for 85 yards on seven carries, had a two-point conversion, and recovered a fumble for Kings Park (4-1).
Bayport-Blue Point 45, Port Jefferson 7: Dan Aiello rushed for 132 yards and four touchdowns on eight carries. Maclin Keyser was 8-for-9 passing for 106 yards and a touchdown for Bayport-Blue Point (5-0).
