Huber leads Newfield girls soccer win
Lindsay Huber scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal off a feed from Michelle Bartolo in the first overtime to lift Newfield to a 3-1 win over Bellport Saturday in non-league girls soccer.
Huber gave Newfield a 1-0 lead in the second half. Bellport's Aaliyah Busby scored with 10 minutes left in the second half to force overtime. Jen Brown scored off a through ball from Carissa Schlesinger in the second overtime to provide the final margin for Newfield.
Sayville 1, Bayport-Blue Point 0: Julianne Johnston's goal five minutes into the first overtime led Sayville in non-league.
Cold Spring Harbor 2, Plainedge 0: Teressa Fazio scored off an assist from Katie Hudson in the 26th minute and Chelsea Tuhoy scored off an assist from Julia Schubauer with 19:33 left in the game for CSH in non-league.
Clarke 8, Valley Stream South 0: Freshman Abby Trotter had a career-high four goals for Clarke in non-league. Sam Goodwin and Nicole Wahlig each had a goal and an assist.
Half Hollow Hills West 1, Lindenhurst 0: Stephanie Ramirez scored off a throw-in for Hills West in non-league.
West Islip 3, Smithtown East 0: Amanda Martinez had two goals and sophomore Shannon Walter chipped in her first varsity goal for West Islip in non-league.
