The Garden City Maroon girls golf team added to its ever-expanding trophy case with a few strokes to spare.

Yesterday, Maroon (870, best five scores each day) won its sixth straight Nassau team title at Bethpage Green, 84 strokes clear of runner-up Syosset (954) over two rounds.

Maroon's Marisa Cameron won the county title (161), shooting a second-day 5-over 76 to edge teammate Samantha Sessa by one stroke. Sessa (162), a freshman and the defending county champion, shot an 84 after a first-day 78.

"To shoot a 76 is just ridiculous," Maroon coach Reid Sclafani said of Cameron.

As for his team's sixth straight title, he added: "It's very rewarding because you can be the favorites coming in, but the girls have to perform."

Alex Michielini (173), Laura Ketigian (190), Mackenzie Horl (190), and Brittany Burke (192) rounded out Maroon's march to victory.

Syosset eighth-grader Elizabeth Choi (164) shot a second day 80, including 1-over on the front nine, to finish third.

"These weren't my best rounds, so I know I can do better next year," Choi said.

Syosset's Rohini Rudra (169), Manhasset's Catherine Blando (181), Jericho's Shannon Chadha will join Choi, Cameron, Michielini, Ketigian, Horl and Sessa at the state championship, beginning June 11 at SUNY Delhi.
