MAKEDA NICHOLAS
NORTH BABYLON, GIRLS BASKETBALL
She had 31 points, 13 blocks and 12 rebounds in a 79-56 win over Kings Park in the Suffolk Class AA quarterfinals. It was Nicholas' second straight triple-double.
ALIYAH MCDONALD
UNIONDALE, GIRLS BASKETBALL
The senior scored 24 points -- including her 1,000th career point -- and had 17 rebounds in a win over Mepham in the Nassau Class AA quarterfinals.
BRIDGIT RYAN
HARBORFIELDS, GIRLS BASKETBALL
She had 19 points, 15 rebounds and five steals to lead the Tornadoes in a 49-36 win over Glenn in a Suffolk Class A final.
CHRIS PENSA
ST. ANTHONY'S, TRACK
The senior weight-thrower won three events in a week. His best performance came in a first-place finish in the Millrose Games with a throw of 64 feet, one inch and he also earned the CHSAA intersectional title with a throw of 63-3 1/4.

NORTHPORT, TRACK
The sophomore won the 3,200 at the Long Island Track and Field Invitational, finishing in 9:35.45.

She won the 300 at the Long Island Track and Field Invitational with a winning time of 41.89.

The senior won the weight throw at the Long Island Track and Field Invitational with a distance of 44 feet, four inches. Her
40 foot, two inch mark at the Millrose Games was tops on L.I.
FERNANDO VAZQUEZ
BABYLON, BASKETBALL
He scored 30 points in an 82-57 victory over Southampton that gave the Panthers their first Suffolk Class B title since 1986.
MATT SMITH
NORTHPORT, BASKETBALL
He scored 28 points, including the tiebreaking layup late in the fourth quarter, as the Tigers rallied to defeat Longwood, 51-47, in a Suffolk AA semifinal.
