Daved Richardson scored four points within the last minute of the game, including a layup with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter, as Floyd defeated Ward Melville, 54-51, in Suffolk League II boys basketball on Friday. He finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Joey McLaurin added 17 points and six assists.
<CF22><IP0>Centereach 55, Sachem North 53: </IP></CF>Tim McCarthy scored the go-ahead layup with seven seconds left to give Centereach (4-3) the Suffolk II win. Chris Buzaid led all scorers with 19 points and McCarthy added 14. Xander Torres had six steals and Logan Norman had 15 rebounds in the win.
<CF22><IP0>Smithtown East 44, Sachem East 40: </IP></CF>Ben Haug scored 22 points to lead Smithtown East (5-2).
<CF22><IP0>Riverhead 64, Newfield 63: </IP></CF>Amari Funn made a go-ahead free throw with six seconds left to lead Riverhead (2-4). Funn scored scored 15 of his 27 points in the first quarter and Connor Levasseur added 16 points.
<CF22><IP0>Bay Shore 61, Huntington 50: </IP></CF>Michael Samuda had 24 points, five rebounds and six assists to lead Bay Shore (6-1) in Suffolk I. Terrell Adderley and Aiden Swinson each scored 10 points. Swinson had seven rebounds and seven assists as well. Hunter Borenstein scored a game-high 29 points for Huntington.
<CF22><IP0>Commack 58, Half Hollow Hills East 50:</IP></CF> Ethan Meisel and Michael Gitz each scored 17 points to lead Commack (6-1). Christopher McHugh added seven points and 18 rebounds.
<CF22><IP0>Copiague 81, Whitman 51: </IP></CF>Malachi Moore scored a varsity-high 42 points to lead Copiague (4-4). The senior guard had 30 points at halftime and finished 12-for-13 from the free-throw line. He added seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
<CF22><IP0>Uniondale 70, Massapequa 55: </IP></CF>Dameek Horton had 25 points and six assists to lead Uniondale (2-2) in Nassau AA-I. Zion Hamilton added 17 points and four assists and Joshua Bernard had 11 points and eight rebounds.
<CF22><IP0>Port Washington 54, Oceanside 42: </IP></CF>Trevor Amalfitano scored 20 points to lead Port Washington (5-1) in Nassau AA-II. Camren Welker added 17 points.
<CF22><IP0>Baldwin 58, Westbury 32:</IP></CF> Joshua Petion had 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and two assists for Baldwin (5-0). Chase Timberlake had 10 points and Jadis Chenet had 12 rebounds in the win.
