Hills East's Ali takes singles title
Top-seeded Zain Ali of Half Hollow Hills East beat No. 6 Mike McFelia of Whitman, 6-2, 6-0, in the Suffolk Division boys tennis singles final at Smithtown East Tuesday.
Hills East's top-seeded double's team of Chris Hunter and Eric Bertuglia beat No. 3 Sam Goldberg and Brett Teplitz (Hills East), 6-0, 6-0, for the doubles title.
No. 2 Brandon Stone (Whitman) beat Hills East's Eric Teplitz, 6-0, 6-1, in the singles consolation match, while Hills West's doubles team of Alex Ricciuti and Jeremy Schnapp defeated teammates Alex Schnapp and Jeff Cherkin in the consolation double's match, 7-6, 6-3.
BOYS TRACK
Copiague 76, Bellport 64: Justin Brown won the triple jump with a leap of 43 feet, 1/4 inches for Copiague (4-2) in Suffolk League IV. Jarrick Ambrose won the long jump in 21-4 and the 100-meter dash in 11.2 seconds.
Huntington 92, Comsewogue 40:Dante Allen won the shot put (47-7) and discus (150-3) to lead Huntington (4-2) in League V. John Ceide won the 800-meters (2:14) and Tyreke Johnson won the 400 IM hurdles (59.2).
Shoreham-Wading River 90, Miller Place 60: Kevin Sanders won the 400 (51.5), the 200 (23.0) and anchored the winning 4x800 and (8:50.0) and 4x100 relay teams (47.0) for Shoreham-Wading River (5-1) in League VI.
Westhampton 80, East Hampton/Bridgehampton 61: Tyler LaMorte won the 110-hurdles in 15.3, the 400-hurdles in 58.5, the 100-dash in 11.0 and was on the winning 4x100 (45.4) relay team to lead Westhampton (6-0) in League VI.
Uniondale 101, Massapequa 84, Freeport 56, Syosset 22: Nyder Chardonette won the 400-IH (60.1), 110-HH (14.5) and ran on the winning 4x100-meter relay team (44.8) for Uniondale in a Conference I quad meet. Tresean Goodwin won the 100 (10.5) and the 200 (21.8) for the Knights. Tim Callahan of Massapequa won the 3,200 (10:08) and finished the Conference season undefeated in the event.
GIRLS TRACK
Comsewogue 78, Huntington 72: Kendall Frank won the 800 (2:36.5), the 3,000 (12:11.7), placed second in the 1,500 (5:15.0) and was part of the winning 4x400 team (4:19.5) for Comsewogue (5-1) in League V. Emily Murphy won the 400 (62.5), won the pole vault (8-6), took second in the 400 hurdles (72.0) and was part of the winning 4x400 team.
Shoreham-Wading River 95, Miller Place 55: Shannon McDonnell won the 800 (2:15.9) as Shoreham-Wading River (6-0) captured the League VI title.Westhampton 90, East Hampton 60: Shelby Felder won the long jump in 15-1 and Gabrielle Mason won the pole vault in 8-10 for Westhampton (2-4) in League VI.

Half Hollow Hills 6, Smithtown East 3:Bryan Woo defeated Eric Hieschfield, 15-11, 15-7, at first singles for Half Hollow Hills (7-4).girls badminton
