Korzevinski's 40 points lifts New Hyde Park
Senior Kristen Korzevinski scored a career-high 40 points and added 16 rebounds and 11 assists in New Hyde Park's 68-60 win over Great Neck North Wednesday in non-league girls basketball.
It was the second triple double of the season for Korzevinski, whose point total was also a school record, according to New Hyde Park coach Hugh Flaherty.
Laila Chadli added seven points, while Melissa Mastoridis and Victoria Lofaro chipped in six points each in the win.
Sewanhaka 55, Floral Park 51: Junior Rachel Wisniewski had a career-high 18 points off the bench on six three-pointers for Sewanhaka in non-league. Eighth-grader Kaela Hilaire had 21 points for Floral Park.Mineola 54, Lawrence 37: Kerri Medlock had 21 points and 14 rebounds and Samantha Venus scored 20 points to lead Mineola in non-league.Harborfields 51, Grand Island (N.Y.) 34: Amy Werbitsky scored eight of her 13 points in the second quarter and Lexi O'Connor had 12 points for Harborfields in the first round of the KSA Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Commack 47, Glenn 40: Nick Arnold had 21 points and three blocks to lead Commack in non-league.
South Side 71, Chaminade 64: Ryan Spadaford had 24 points and 12 rebounds for South Side in non-league. Robert Pichioni scored 18 points, including nine in the fourth and Darren Nickelson had 11 points and five assists for South Side.Jericho 71, Oceanside 63: Garrett Johnson scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half to pace Jericho in non-league action. JoCorey Miller had 16 points and went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the win. Portledge 71, Kew Forest 37: Sophomore Terence Simpson had career highs of 33 points, 16 rebounds and six steals to lift Portledge in IPPSAL. Zach Pilson added 16 points and seven rebounds in the win.Solomon Schechter 68, Lexington 37: Jacob Katz scored 21 points, including four three-pointers in the second quarter, to lead Solomon Schechter in IPPSAL. Adam Shalem had 10 points off the bench for Solomon Schechter.
