Middle Country junior Melissa Sherwin bowled a 300 in the Suffolk girls singles/doubles tournament at East Islip Wednesday.

Sherwin, who had a two-game 558 series and became the second girl this season to have a 300, won the "A'' division singles title. Teammate Kelly Skalacki took second with a 514 series. Angelina Macaluso and Melanie Mayer (Islip) combined for a 933 to win the "A'' doubles title.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Portledge 69, Solomon Schechter 57: Terence Simpson had 33 points, 14 rebounds and three steals as Portledge (6-0) remained undefeated in IPPSAL. Nick Lobley had 20 points and David Lustberg added 11 rebounds for Portledge.

Lawrence Woodmere Academy 51, Blessed Sacrament (New Rochelle) 47: Rokas Lapsys had 20 points and Trent Parrish added 17 for Lawrence Woodmere (11-1) in non-league.Babylon 61, Center Moriches 47: Senior Adrian Sullivan had a career-high 20 points for Babylon (3-1) in Suffolk League VII on Tuesday. Bridgehampton 81, Southold 75: Jason Hopson had 27 points and Caanan Campbell (25 points) scored the first seven points in overtime for Bridgehampton (2-2) in Suffolk League VIII on Tuesday. Southold's Kyle Clausen (25 points) hit a three-pointer with 3.8 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sewanhaka 66, Division 61: Shantell McCall scored 15 of her 20 points during a 51-31 second half as Sewanhaka (2-0) overcame a 15-point deficit in Conference A-II on Tuesday. Celine Jolicoeur chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Lindenhurst 58, Bay Shore 40: Senior center Naomi Oyakhilome had a career-high 24 rebounds,and added eight points and three blocks for Lindenhurst (4-0) in League II on Tuesday. Her sister Valerie had a game-high 20 points. Wyandanch 50, Mercy 40: Senior Lorenza Birt had a career-high 26 rebounds and junior Symphony Paschall added a career-high 12 points to go with 16 rebounds for Wyandanch (2-2) in Suffolk League VII on Tuesday.
