Stefanelli's record day leads Sachem East
Sophomore Anthony Stefanelli set a school record in the 1-meter dive with a score of 293.55 for Sachem East in a 99-85 win over Connetquot Tuesday in a Suffolk League I boys swimming match.
Stefanelli bested the previous record of 188 he set earlier this season. Kim Wilson won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.03 and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.64 for Sachem East (2-4).
Boys basketball
Ross 53, Pierson 49: Junior Fuhito Yoshida had a career-high 16 points and five assists and Roosevelt Odidi had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Ross (3-3) in League VIII. Skyler Loesch had 14 points and Seamus Doyle had 13 points for Pierson.
Chaminade 54, Floral Park 43: James McCaffrey had 14 points and Kevin Sheehy 12 for Chaminade (12-2) in non-league. Richard Zoller chipped in eight points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Flyers.
Girls basketball
Pierson-Bridgehampton 62, Ross 33: Sarah Barrett had 10 of her season-high 23 points in the second quarter to lead Pierson-Bridgehampton (6-0) in League VIII. Kayla Jerido had 21 points for Ross.
Boys bowling
Chaminade 2, Kellenberg 1: Andrew Fenn bowled a 278 in Game 1 and Nick Niles shot a 256 in Game 3 of a 656 series to lead Chaminade (9-3) in a 1,229-857, 1,176-929, 989-1,014 victory in CHSAA.
Southold 3, Eastport-South Manor 0: Chris Manfredi bowled a 600 series with a 221 in Game 2 and Zach Depaulis rolled a 232 in Game 1 of a 594 series for Southold in a 994-957, 953-935, 904-830 League V win.
