Teemer's jumper wins it for Long Beach

Jaymen Teemer hit a pull-up jumper from the foul line with 12.2 seconds left to provide the final margin in Long Beach's 45-43 non-league boys basketball win over Kellenberg at the George Emma Classic at Freeport. Farrell Gordon's three-pointer tied the game at 43 with 1:20 to play for Long Beach (5-4). Teemer finished with 12 points and Cedric Coad added 10. Joshua Trone had six points and 11 rebounds and Gordon scored seven points. Kevin Bowles led Kellenberg (4-6) with 18 points.

Freeport 49, Carey 21: Jere Brown had eight points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals for Freeport (9-1) and was named MVP of the George Emma Classic. The event is held in honor of the former Freeport coach. Cedric Smiley led the Red Devils with 11 points. Carey is 1-8.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Great Neck South 55, Great Neck North 46: Allison Finkel scored six of her 18 points during a 12-5 second quarter for Great Neck South (3-6), which led 24-19 at halftime in non-league. Sophomore Daisy Xu scored 18 points with a career-high 23 rebounds. Junior Marni Rosenwasser scored a career-high 28 points for Great Neck North (6-6). St. Anthony's 62, Truman 24: Micki Impellizeri and Rebecca Musgrove each scored 11 points for St. Anthony's (11-1) in the MLK Classic at Nazareth High School on Sunday. Kimani Jackson and Lauren Williams each scored nine points.

GYMNASTICS

Oceanside 155.15, Valley Stream District 120.0: Diarta Tolaj won the vault with an 8.35 for Oceanside (4-1) in non-league. Cheyenne Blumberg took first in the uneven bars (8.85), Jenna Blackman won the balance beam (7.85) and Casey Block won the floor exercise (9.0). Jessica Betts won the all-around for Valley Stream District with a 31.35.
