Jackie Zaweski defeated Caitlin Falvey at fourth singles, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2), in the clinching match and lifted No. 8 Mercy to a 4-3 win over No. 9 Ward Melville in the second round of the Suffolk girls tennis playoffs.

Mercy (12-5) will play the Half Hollow Hills East/Sayville winner in a quarterfinal at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Floyd 7, Mount Sinai 0:Emily Fernandez defeated Danielle Stefanucci 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, at first singles for No. 3 Floyd (16-1) in a second-round playoff match. Floyd hosts the winner of Harborfields/Smithtown East in the quarters at 3 p.m. Thursday.

Port Jefferson 1, Pierson/Bridgehampton 0: Gerard Raccanelli scored off a scramble in front of the net off a corner kick from Connor Crovello with 24 minutes left to win it for Port Jefferson (14-0, 11-0), which clinched the Suffolk League VIII title.Kellenberg 2, St. John the Baptist 1: Connor Wesch scored the winning goal off a cross from Joe Ferriso early in the second half for Kellenberg (7-4-3, 4-4-3) in CHSAA. Mitchell Dull tied it at 1 for Kellenberg in the first off a corner from Nicholas Zorbo.GIRLS SOCCER

Long Island Lutheran 3, Waldorf 1: Nicole Sinacroi, Meghan Pinezich and Carolyn Dottino each scored in the second half to lead No. 1 Long Island Lutheran in a PSAA semifinal. LIL will face Staten Island Academy in the final at 2:15 p.m. Thursday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Southampton 3, East Hampton 2: Emily Wesnofske scored the winning goal off a corner pass from Keeling Pilaro as time expired to win it for Southampton (7-7) in Division III. Pilaro fed Wesnofske earlier in the second half to tie the score at 2.
